    About Porter’s Landing

Porter’s Landing is one of several small and economical homes in the Compact Cabin plan series developed by Satterwhite. It is also our smallest cabin with a conventional staircase to an upper floor loft space inside the roof structure, which adds a significant 18’0″ x 12’8″ multi-use space to this small plan. A vaulted ceiling above the family room and dining area adds spaciousness to this design.

Formerly known as the “Salado 4,” this plan was renamed for the eldest of the Satterwhite grandchildren. This plans lacks ventilated attic space necessary for conventional insulation and energy efficiency, thus it was originally designed as an occasional use cabin ideal for farm and ranch use. However, the advent of modern spray foam insulation now allows this plan to deliver excellent energy efficiency, making it suitable for continuous occupancy.
