Fredricksburg is one of the crown jewel towns of the Texas Hill Country west of Austin, known as a popular tourist destination, and also as the historic home of Admiral Chester Nimitz, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet during World War II, and the person who accepted Japanese surrender, ending that conflict. It comes as no surprise that Satterwhite would dedicate a much-loved floor plan in honor of this community.
Like the stalwart town it is named for, the Fredericksburg floor plan is proven and sturdy, with a traditional layout including a combined family room and dining area coupled with a kitchen adjoining the dining room. The front elevation of the Frederickburg presents the classic look of a Satterwhite log home, while the rear elevation is dominated by a large shed dormer, cedar board and batten for low maintenance, a feature which opens substantial full height headroom into the loft area of the upper floor. This shed dormer enables a comfortable full bath for the upstairs bedroom, plus a loft of considerable size above the kitchen, open to the interior below. This affords an excellent space for a home office or use in any other needed capacity.
